Falling

How to land when being thrown

The above picture shows the attacker throwing the defender. Remember when being thrown you want to turn your body towards the attacker as your being thrown. If you do not you can pull the muscles in your back. When landing (as shown below) you want to remember the following:

  • Always keep your chin to your chest.

  • Always slap the ground to take the force of the landing off of your body and into your arms.

  • Try to land on the fleshy portions of your body. (not directly on you back)

  • Try to land with one leg up so that you may follow up with a kick to your attacker.

  • It is always good to take a self defence course that teaches you proper falling techniques.
